The Grizzlies outrebounded the Wizards 53-40 last night and it helped them surge to victory.  Rudy Gay led the way for the Grizzlies last night with 27 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot.  Mike Conley (17 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals) and Marc Gasol (15 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot) also had rock solid games last night.  Zach Randolph (13 points) and O.J. Mayo (10 points) also pitched in.  The Grizzlies are now 25-18 on the year.

The Grizzlies were outscored 11-7 in O.T. last night and it did them in.  Marc Gasol (28 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 3 blocked shots), Rudy Gay (26 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot) and Zach Randolph (25 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals) led the way for the Grizzlies in this game.  O.J. Mayo only shot 3 of 10 from the floor but he still finished up with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 1 blocked shot.  The Grizzlies are now 24-18 on the year.

The Memphis Grizzlies deal Sam Young to the Sixers

The Grizzlies have dealt 26-year old SG/SF Sam Young to the 76ers for the rights to 2005 draft pick Ricky Sanchez.  Sanchez is a 24-year old power forward who has yet to play in the NBA.  He played in 2 years in the D-League in which he played in 75 games (22 starts) and he averaged 25.1 minutes, 10.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.  He is a longshot to ever play for the Grizzlies.  Young played in 21 games (2 starts) for the Grizzlies this year and he averaged 11.4 minutes, 3.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game.  Young has now played in 179 games (49 starts) in his three years with the Grizzlies and he averaged 17.5 minutes, 6.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.  This deal was essentially a salary dump for the Grizzlies.

30-year old power forward Zach Randolph is about ready to return to action after missing most of the season due to a knee injury.  Randolph has played in 4 games (all starts) for the Grizzlies so far this year and he is averaging 28.3 minutes, 14.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.3 steals per game.  The Grizzlies will be able to bring along Randolph slowly as Marreese Speights and Dante Cunningham have done a decent job while he has been out of action.

The Grizzlies were outscored 13-8 in the 2nd O.T. period last night and it did them in.  Marreese Speights (25 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot) and Marc Gasol (20 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals) led the way for the Grizzlies last night.  Tony Allen also had a solid game with 18 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in this game.  O.J. Mayo (14 points), Quincy Pondexter (12 points) and Mike Conley (10 points) also pitched in for the Grizzlies last night.  The Grizzlies are now 24-17 on the year.

The Grizzlies shot 50.7% from the floor and that trumped the fact that they were outrebounded 47-33 last night.  O.J. Mayo led the way for the Grizzlies last night with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals.  Mike Conley (13 points, 1 rebound, 7 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot) and Dante Cunningham (12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 blocked shots in 28 minutes) also had rock solid games for the Grizzlies.  Tony Allen pitched in with 10 points in only 18 minutes on the floor.  The Grizzlies are now 24-16 on the year.

The Grizzlies were outrebounded 52-35 last night and it did them in.  Marc Gasol led the way for the Grizzlies with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.  Rudy Gay shot 7 of 20 from the floor but he still finished up with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.  Marressee Speights pitched in with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist last night.  The Grizzlies are now 23-16 on the year.

The Grizzlies shot 52.5% from the floor and they outrebounded the Warriors 47-39 last night which led them to victory.  Rudy Gay led the way for the Grizzlies last night with 26 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot.  Marreese Speights (18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists,  2 steals and 1 blocked shot) and Marc Gasol (17 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals) also had solid games last night.  O.J. Mayo (16 points), Tony Allen (12 points) and Quincy Pondexter (11 points) also pitched in last night.  The Grizzlies are now 23-15 on the year.

The Memphis Grizzlies aren’t get much from their rookies

The Grizzlies don’t use their rookies much as they have their eyes on returning to the playoffs in 2011-12.  26-year old undrafted point guard Jeremy Pargo has played in 27 games (3 starts) for the Grizzlies so far this year and he is averaging 10.7 minutes, 3.0 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.  Pargo just can’t shoot.  He has only made 33% of his shots from the floor, 21.7% from the three point range and 68.8% from the free throw line so far this year.  20-year old shooting guard Josh Selby has played in 20 games (0 starts) for the Grizzlies so far this year and he is averaging 9.8 minutes, 2.9 points, 0.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.  He is also having trouble shooting the ball as he has only hit 39.7% from the floor.

The Grizzlies held the Pistons to 38.2% shooting from the floor and they outscored the Pistons 31-13 in the 4th quarter to surge to victory last night.  Marc Gasol (17 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots), O.J. Mayo (17 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot) and Marreese Speights (16 points and 7 rebounds) led the way for the Grizzlies last night.  Rudy Gay also had a decent game as he finished up with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 blocked shot last night.  Quincy Pondexter (12 points), Tony Allen (11 points) and Mike Conley (10 points) also pitched in for the Grizzlies in this game.  The Grizzlies are now 22-15 on the year.
