Marreese Speights has been a little inconsistent for the Memphis Grizzlies

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by admin on Thursday 2 February 2012 at 10:32 pm

24-year old power forward Marreese Speights is a pretty good basketball player but he seems to rub his coaches the wrong way sometimes.  He has played in 15 games (13 starts) so far this year for the Grizzlies and he is averaging 20.7 minutes, 7.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game.  But, Speights is only shooting 41.2% from the floor, which isn’t good for a player his size.  If Speights ever really turns up the fire inside his body, he could really be a very solid basketball player.

The Memphis Grizzlies need to let O.J. Mayo out of the Dog House

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Saturday 28 January 2012 at 1:40 am

24-year old shooting guard O.J. Mayo is a flat out better basketball player than Tony Allen is and he should be starting.  Mayo has played in 18 games (0 starts) for the Grizzlies so far this year and he is averaging 25.1 minutes, 11.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.  Mayo is also shooting 42.2% from three point range (27 of 64), as he is bringing big time firepower off the bench.  They have tried to trade him a few times, but they would be better off just playing him more as he is a darn good basketball player.
