Detroit Pistons 96, Memphis Grizzlies 74

The Grizzlies really laid an egg in the home opener. They only shot 36.1% from the floor while the Pistons shot 61.4% and it’s impossible to win a game that way. Marc Gasol was the lone Grizzlies’ player who really wanted to battle the Pistons tonight as he finished with 21 points, 15 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Rudy Gay had a so-so game finishing with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Zach Randolph’s debut with the Grizzlies was a line of 14 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. The Grizzlies did outrebound the Pistons 49-39 but that wasn’t enough to even play a close game. The Grizzlies are now 0-1 on the season.
