Potential abounds for the Memphis Grizzlies at center
24-year old Marc Gasol exploded on the scene for the Grizzlies last season. He played in all 82 games for the Grizzlies and he averaged 30.7 minutes, 11.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 blocked shots per game. Gasol could improve on those numbers this season unless one of the youngsters behind him starts stealing some of his minutes. 22-year old Hasheem Thabeet was the 2nd pick in the first round of the NBA Draft for the Grizzlies. The 7′3″, 267 pound Thabeet will be counted on for defense and rebounding as a rookie and he should deliver. 24-year old Hamed Haddadi will be #3 in line for minutes at center. He played in 19 games last season for the Grizzlies and he averaged 6.3 minutes, 2.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. Haddadi still has a nice little upside.
