The main problem in last night’s game with the Sonics is that the Sonics dominated 56-43 on the boards so the Grizzlies didn’t get a lot of second shots on offense. Mike Miller led the way for them with 20 points. Rudy Gay had a very good game with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Pau Gasol also had a solid game with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists.

Hibernation comes early this season for the Grizzlies

The Grizzlies have been awful this season as they went 14-40 in the first half. While it’s true that Pau Gasol and Stromile Swift have missed a lot of time, you would still think the Grizzlies would be able to be competitive….but they haven’t. Eddie Jones appeared to be toast so the Grizzlies cut him because of his poor play. Damon Stoudamire has that same crispy look. The Grizz also have lost rookie Kyle Lowry for the season after he flashed some impressive ability with a broken wrist. The Grizzlies should just play Miller, Gasol and all of the young kids because they have nothing to lose. Look for Hakim Warrick, Lawrence Roberts, Rudy Gay and Alexander Johnson to all get big playing time in the second half of the season.
