Eddie Jones has been pathetic this season

Blogged under Front Page,Need to step up by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 16 January 2007 at 11:04 pm

Eddie Jones has the look of a totally washed up basketball player. He’s bringing absolutely nothing to the table and doesn’t really deserve and playing time. He has played in 23 games this season and is averaging 18.2 minutes, 3.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists. He’s also lost his only exceptional skill which is his shooting. He’s only hitting 29.5% from the floor and he’s only hit 10 of 50 (20%) of his three point shot attempts.

Grizzlies having an awful season

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 9 January 2007 at 9:05 pm

The Grizzlies are sitting at 8-27 on the season which has them 19 games behind the Mavericks and in last place in the Southwest Division. The Grizzlies were playing so poorly that it cost coach Mike Fratello his job. Interim head coach Tony Barone has the Grizzlies 2-3 since he took over and they look like they’re playing alot better for him. The Grizzlies have played poorly on defense as their opponents hit 47.7% of their shots from the floor as a team. They also don’t rebound well as they only get 48.2% of the total rebounds in their games which is tied for 28th in the league. Now the good news, Pau Gasol is starting to round into shape and he’s been playing well. Gasol is averaging 18.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game this season in only 27.3 minutes per game. Mike Miller has been their best player over the whole season as he’s averaged 16.9 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. He’s also hit 100 3-point shots this season. The Grizzlies are a much better team than they’ve shown so far this season so look for improvement from here on out.

Stromile Swift playing well

Blogged under Front Page,Steppin Up by Nothing but Net on Sunday 7 January 2007 at 10:48 pm

When the new coach took over for the Grizzlies one of the first things he did was increase the playing time of Stromile Swift and that has proved to be a good move. Swift is averaging 31.0 minutes per game over his last 4. He has shot 60% in those games, and has averaged 17.3 points, 9.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.8 blocks! Swift will continue to get big minutes as long as he keeps producing. He always has had the talent to produce like this, but sometimes his head wasn’t in it.
