Grizzlies bad first half too much to overcome in 105-98 loss to Spurs

The Grizzlies fell behind 62-46 in the first half before mounting a challenge that fell short. The Grizzlies shot well as they hit 52% from the floor but they didn’t play any defense as the Spurs hit 55.2% of their shots from the floor.

Mike Miller had another good game as he scored 22 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. Pau Gasol only played 24 minutes, but he scored 16 points. Hakim Warrick (11 points, 3 steals) and Chucky Atkins (11 points in 10 minutes) each really played well off the bench.

The Grizzlies fell to 6-20 on the season with this loss.

Mike Miller leading team through dark times

Mike Miller is really having a good season. He’s averaging 13.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game so far this season. Miller has a fine all-around game and he’s a good shooter. Miller has been their best player while Pau Gasol was out, but now he can slide into his more comfortable role of #2 scorer.

Grizzlies prevail in double OT 134-126 over the Sonics

The Grizzlies hit 51.1% of their shots on their way to victory. Mike Miller had a fantastic game with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Chucky Atkins also had a great game with 28 points and 8 assists. Rudy Gay had a solid game off the bench with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Pau Gasol added 15 points in only 22 minutes on the floor. Alexander Johnson got another start and he made the most of it with 13 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 blocked shots. Hakim Warrick added 10 points and 4 rebounds off the bench.

The Grizzlies improved to 6-19 on the season with this much-needed win.

The Grizzlies fall again 98-90 to Heat

The Grizzlies got outrebounded 45-30 by the Heat and the Heat shot 50.6% from the floor. The Grizzlies couldn’t stop Dwyane Wade who lit them up for 41 points.

Mike Miller led the way for the Grizzlies with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Hakim Warrick added 20 points. Dahntay Jones pitched in with 15 points. Pau Gasol scored 11 points. Alexander Johnson got his first start of the season and scored 9 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.

The Grizzlies fell to 5-19 on the season with this loss.

Dull effort dooms Grizzlies in 97-88 loss to Hawks

The Grizzlies only shot 36.9% from the floor and allowed the Hawks to hit 53.5% from the floor. The Grizzlies were also out-rebounded 37-29 on their way to another loss. Chucky Atkins led the way for the Grizz with 18 points. Hakim Warrick had a decent game with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Alexander Johnson came off the bench and played his best game of the year so far scoring 15 points and grabbing 4 rebounds. Rudy Gay pitched in with 13 points. Mike Miller was busy with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals.

The bright spot in this game was that Pau Gasol played in his first game of the season. Gasol didn’t play that well in the 17 minutes he was on the court. He was only 1 of 5 from the floor and wound up with 4 points and 3 rebounds, but it was nice to see him back. Better times lie ahead for the Grizzlies now that their best player is back.

The Grizzlies fell to 5-18 on the season with this loss.
