Grizzlies give stale performance and lost 85-79 to Blazers

The Grizzlies looked flat last night and got outrebounded 41-31 by the Blazers. Mike Miller had a good game with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Damon Stoudamire had a decent game with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Chucky Atkins added 14 points and 5 assists. Rudy Gay pitched in with 12 points.

The Grizzlies fell to 5-17 on the season with this loss.

Grizzlies have nice haul in the draft

Rudy Gay has been pretty good so far this season. Gay has played in 21 games and has averaged 24.7 minutes, 9.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 1.0 steal and 0.9 blocks per game so far this season. The only negative so far on Gay is that he is only shooting 37.2% from the floor.

Kyle Lowry broke his wrist and will miss the rest of the season, but he showed promise when he played this season. He had played in 10 games and had averaged 17.5 minutes, 5.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game so far this season. He also had a shooting problem as he only hit 36.8% of his shots from the floor.

Alexander Johnson has only played in 6 games and has averaged 3.2 minutes, 1.5 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game so far this season.

Tarence Kinsey has only played in 2 games and has averaged 8.2 minutes and 3.5 points per game.

Rudy Gay and Kyle Lowry will make this an excellent draft for Memphis, as they will be big-time players in the near future.

Grizzlies thumped by Nets 105-92

The Grizzlies only scored 10 points in the first quarter and never recovered from that. Chucky Atkins had a fine game with 26 points and 7 assists. Damon Stoudamire was busy with 14 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Hakim Warrick scored 10 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished out 3 assists. Stromile Swift had a decent game with 10 points and 5 rebounds.

The Grizzlies fell to 5-16 on the season with this loss.

Pau Gasol could be back by the weekend

The Grizzlies could be getting their best player back this weekend. Gasol will practice on Tuesday and Thursday and if all goes well he will be back for the weekend. The Grizzlies need Gasol back in the worst way because they’ve been pathetic so far this season.

Rookie Kyle Lowry could miss remainder of season

This is a shame because Lowry was really playing well for the Grizzlies. He broke his left wrist on November 21st and might miss the remainder of the season. He was averaging 5.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game this season.

Lawrence Roberts injured

Lawrence Roberts had surgery on his right knee on December 8th and will miss 4-6 weeks. This is a big loss to the Grizzlies as Roberts had been playing well off the bench. Roberts is averaging 6.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game so far this season.

Grizzlies fall again 89-82 to Clippers

The Grizzlies really need to get Pau Gasol back as they are fading fast. Mike Miller was very good with 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Dahntay Jones added 13 points. Damon Stoudamire scored 13 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Chucky Atkins added 10 points.

The Grizzlies fell to 5-15 on the season with this loss.

Grizzlies fall on road 100-94 to Bucks

The score was much closer than the game was as the Bucks were leading this game 82-56 after three quarters. The Grizzlies played horrible on defense as the Bucks hit 53.2% of their shots from the floor. Hakim Warrick had a fantastic game as he scored 31 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Brian Cardinal had a decent game off the bench with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Mike Miller only scored 9 points, but he grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 6 assists.

The Grizzlies fell to 5-14 with this loss.

Grizzlies nip the Celtics 98-96

The Grizzlies really played hard the whole game and it paid off with a victory. Chucky Atkins led the way with 19 points and 6 assists. Dahntay Jones scored 18 points. Lawrence Roberts was a beast off the bench with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Mike Miller was real busy with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Hakim Warrick added 12 points. But it was rookie Rudy Gay who hit the game-winning shot with 2.6 seconds that really lifted the Grizzlies, he finished with 8 points.

The Grizzlies improved to 5-13 on the season with this win.

Grizzlies play poor defense and lose 98-90 to Knicks

The Grizzlies just looked awful last night. The Knicks shot 56.3% from the floor as a team and out-rebounded Memphis 44-32 and that’s hard to overcome.

Hakim Warrick played hard and scored 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Stromile Swift added 14 points. Mike Miller had a good all-around game with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Dahntay Jones scored 11 points in a rare start for him. Chucky Atkins scored 9 points and dished out 11 assists.

The Grizzlies have fallen to 4-13 on the season.
